The American Association of University Women promotes equity for women and girls. In Gig Harbor this includes annually awarding $1,000 college scholarships to a female graduate of each of the three Gig Harbor/Peninsula high schools; sending middle school girls to Tech Trek (a STEM-centered summer program at Pacific Lutheran University) camp for a week every summer; and corresponding and meeting regularly with our legislators.  We have monthly meetings and eight interest groups including book discussion groups, bridge and a Bon Appetit group. We work together, support each other, and have fun while taking our mission seriously. It is exciting and empowering to be a part of a group that actively supports women and girls at all levels.
